Description: Scan of exhibit label from past exhibition, "Ethnology of Philippines (Islands) Exhibition Hall H". Most of the mats are made from narrow strips of pandanus woven together with great regularity. They are used as beds, not as floor coverings, during the warm and rainy seasons. In cold weather people usually curl up in the hot ashes of the camp fire for their night's rest. BATAK. Northern Palawan, Philippine Islands. Robert F. Cummings Expedition. F.C. Cole, Collector.
