    Description: scan of catalog card [FRONT] [MAIN BODY] Field Museum of Natural History - Ethnology | 22-35 | Provenience: Africa, Nigeria (village between Lagos and Ibadan). | People or Culture: Yoruba | Object: Talking Drum (dundun) | Material: wood, goat skin, animal hide, brass, metal, thread, cotton cloth, cotton cord. | Description: A: Double-headed hourglass pressure (also called 'squeeze') Drum with leather carrying strap decorated with needlepoint. Drum has multiple goat-skin cords attached vertically from a dark brown leather band at each drum head. Covering half the circumfrence of the drum at top and bottom are 2 brown leather 's' straps with orange & maroon abstract designs in needlepoint. One strap has 7 brass bells, the other 6 bells.
